RCG served as the project coordinator for The Gap Foundation as it develops an national “first job readiness” and internship program for underserved youth, tied directly to the Gap Inc. stores. RCG provided overall management of the initiative, including facilitating implementation team meetings; supporting the CBO assessment process, the internship program development process, and the evaluation process; and linking the Gap Inc. functions and store operation staff. RCG drove the rollout of the pilot program in New York in February 2007. By coordinating the efforts of local non-profits using best practice job readiness curricula, and developing an in-depth internship program at the Gap, Old Navy, and Outlet Stores this initiative seeks to prepare underserved youth for successful job attainment.
